What the Satsang is

The word Satsang means company of truth. This is the inner experience of sharing orally or in writing. Satsang is one of the three feet of the Agya with the Meditation and the Service. The Agya is all what makes the. practice of the yoga-original.

What the Satsang is

Summary:

The word Satsang consists of two syllables, sat: perfection, Truth and sang : company, which gives: "Company of the Truth." Satsang is part of the practice of the path, with the Meditation without thoughts and the Meditation in action or Duty. The practice of the path, composed of these three elements is the Agya.

The Satsang is given orally, ideally or in writing if it is impossible to hear it. The orally given Satsang is a kind of monologue, of sermon as we said at the time of the Christ.

According to the teaching only the Guide and the premie (disciples of the fourth degree of practice) can give Satsang. The person who gives Satsang meditates on the “Holy-Name” a few moments before speaking. When it feels this “inner-smile” in the top of the chest, it opens the eyes and improvises a “sermon”.

We used to say that the important thing, in Satsang, is not the saying concepts but the contents of the words, the feeling. It has to be noticed that only those which know and frequent the Truth regularly are able to give Satsang. This word is not deposited by the Path and all the movements make use of it to name the speeches which they hold.

The Satsang of the guide, sri Hans yoganand ji (alias josé) and who is published on the blog Paroles de vérité was given orally within the ashram nandi-àlaya, was recorded and retranscribed. The Satsang of the guide is at the same time the media of his teaching. What makes the path is its teaching.

The word Satsang breaks up into two syllables,
sat: perfection, Truth and sang: company,
what gives: “company of the Truth”.
Satsang is part of the practice of the path,
with the Meditation and the Duty.

Agya: Duty, Satsang,Méditation

The Agya: Duty/Satsang/Meditation

Each one of these three parts is essential if you want to live this spirituality with some satisfactions. The Satsang is to speak, or write starting from its experiment and under the inspiration of the inner-Peace. The Satsang is also to listen and read the narratives of a yoga-originel practitioner arriving at the stage of premie or “god's lover” and of the guide. The Satsang of the guide conveys also his teaching.

''The guide is the source of Satsang''
[Bhaktimàrga 3-1-10]

You know what you hope to find in the deep Meditation: a transcendental experiment of the ineffable one. This is the more attractive side of the path, the strongest promise even if often the experiment is limited to a centring what is already much when you realise what this centring brings to you in your daily life.

As regards the Meditation in action, or Duty, you know that you have to practise it as often and as long as possible throughout the day, especially at the degree of practice of Chela, or disciple, in order to keep your emotions under contro. The purpose of the Realization, which is one of the goals of the path, in any case for a disciple and a premie, is not so much to plunge in the nirvikalpa-samadhi, or ecstasy, by the sitted meditation as to make with the deep spirituality, the Conscience, a daily reality.

''The Duty is the hall which leads to the room of Meditation
The door is the Satsang
''.
[Bhaktimàrga 2-3-23]

An appointment

As regards the Satsang it is in the same way an inescapable date in the life of a practitioner. The benefit to receive Satsang is to inspire. In the Duty you have the concept to make all the daily tasks by keeping the spirit centered and by seeking the excellence, without waiting of reward, without being attached to the result, some then speak about nonact.

Satsang is Duty when it brings to the path
 [Bhaktimàrga 2-4-15]

Sharing

The given Satsang is also part of the Duty, for a premie: it is a question of sharing the experiment, it is necessary to say that the path exists and what it brings in his/her life, to share without seeking to convince. More than the verbal, conceptual contents of Satsang, the feeling of Truth must touch at the listener or the reader a cord which did not vibrate any more and requires to vibrate again.

The Christ told to his disciples, in connection with that:  ''And he said to them, When the light comes in, do people put it under a vessel, or under the bed, and not on its table? There is nothing covered which will not be seen openly, and nothing has been made secret which will not come to light. If any man has ears, let him give ear '' .[Mark 4:21,22,23]

Satsang is never a dialogue:
when a premie, the guide gives Satsang
one listens to it without stopping him from the beginning to the end.
If one wants to dialogue, to ask questions it is possible
but one will do it before or afterwards.

Satsang: enjoy loving Him

A very simple mean to practice the yoga-originel, to live your deep spiritual life : loving to love God, his Holy-Name, His Grace. So no worry about the theories, the guilt and the ambition of the spiritual-ego on the search of the perfection.

God is not Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu nor Buddhist. You are obliged to nothing. You can eat what you want and get dressed in the way which pleases you. God is neither tolerant nor severe, even less moralistic. He has nothing to do with the concepts of the human beings. The concepts of the human beings concern only the human beings. It is not because a Muslim shouts Allahou akbar that God owes to be Muslim. It is not because the Jews eat kosher that God wants you to eat kosher. God is neither moralistic nor nutritionist.

God never neither punishes nor rewards and it is good because you never have to be forgiven, whatever you make. You know, the ocean is there for every fish, for every marine creature and the ocean is more important for these creatures than these creatures are for the ocean. The ocean gives of itself at 100% for every fish and every marine creature. Every marine creature can feel owner of all the ocean.

Every human being can make of the universal God his personal God and the relation he has with Him is his own business. You can leave God for years and return, he will be there for you. The river is not going to stop flowing because you didn’t go fishing during one year !

You missed a fishing season, you didn’t take your card a year long and the next season you don’t dare to go taking a card again, it would be too simple… you think that you will go sit down at the water's edge, dip your fishhook and apologize by the river but it, no, it will not forgive you and will refuse to give you fishes.

God is not so and you have no reason for feeling guilty if you left him, you just have to begin again your relationship to Him and then it's as if you had never left the practice: you find yourselves where you staid, beginning again your deepening. Everything depends on you.

What is a devotee or premie, compared with an aspirant, a Walker and a chela? It is disciple who is more thirsty of Him, of One that the others, that's it. He has no qualities, no different capacities, simply he doesn’t want to miss a breath without having paid all the attention to it that it deserves. The living guide is a member of the premie’s paradigm, as of that of the aspirant and the chela. The path is the guide who draws it for you.

When we are a lover of God, we like being conscious of His Grace and we do everything in order to be it. Everything is contained in the Observance of Agya.

When I speak about the ambassadors of the happiness I also speak about the ambassadors of His Grace. The events, the occurrences, the synchronicities, the harmonies of the things, the providential meetings, the not expected administrative decisions which are taken in your favor, the beauty of a moment, the benevolence of the fate belong to His Grace, to His Guidance as the Christ said, in Thomas's Gospel, ''the Kingdom is inside you but it is also outside ''.

The Grace can be discerned in things from the outside, even if your attention isn’t turned inside. After working day, you see a sunset, on the way back home, and you feel a great Peace, it is the Grace that gives you a wink.

"The eye in consciousness sees One in everything, the one of the illusion sees only the forms " [bhaktimàrga 1-1-5]

When something outside lets vibrate, in you, the chord of your soul, you reconnect automatically in consciousness. When a guitar is played, if there is another guitar leaned on a wall, if it is tuned in the same way, this guitar without musician will enter in accordance with the one who is played and will resonate on the same tone. It is so for your soul and for The Grace. The outer ambassadors of this Grace let resonate, in you, what looks like it.

The happiness is the resultant of the Grace and of your consciousness of it. The Grace is not enough for your happiness, you have to be conscious of it. You are conscious of the Grace inside you? By the meditation? It is good but it is also outside you. The outside is God's work, it is His Creation despite the awkward efforts of the human beings to break everything.

If you like God's Love more than anything, then you are a devotee, a devotee even if you know nothing about the writings. On the path of freedom there is the Observance of Agya. The one who observes the Agya with diligence is already a chela, a disciple; the devotion comes by consequence and it is the pearl of the path.

You can repeat a mantra all day long, blow up you in the middle of a market on his behalf, it is not for that that you love God. To love God it is to like being conscious of His presence inside and outside you. God is too much tall so that you can see him, but you can see His Light, in you, by the practice of the technique of the appropriate meditation and you can be conscious of his eye put on you and in the beauty of His Creation.

Who does let beat your heart, who does let you breath, who does let you be aware of you and the world? Him. Enjoy loving Him, then all the rest is the foam of the days.

Satsang : It is you, but which one?

This Satsang speaks about you, about who you are and about whom you believe to be: when do you say “my soul”, as if it were your possession, that means that you do not consider it as being you, then? Who speaks? Who are you ?

It is you, but which one?

I said you the goal of the path, its purpose, was to look further into your Conscience and to put it at the good place… but what is the Conscience? The Conscience is what allows to see, to hear, to feel, to touch, to be the master of your mind, at the controls of your body, to feel the taste of what you eat, to be able to put a name on what you see and to direct your eyes where you want to look at. The Conscience is also to hear and identify the heard sounds, it is also the fact of being able to say what you have to say, to find the words to say it, it is to be alive. That is the Conscience.

The Conscience is like this green control lamp which says the device is under tension, it works. That is the Conscience… this Conscience works because there is energy, because the battery is full, full with vital force. This force is the Te, that one of the Tao-Te-King, the Verb, the Word, the Holy-Name. This force is the one of the life and you have it contained inside you. It makes that you are alive in Conscience. Your heart beats, you breathe and the computer of your brain works. You open the eyes in the morning and the session, put on hold the previous evening, is reset and you find your desk and the use of your applications.

The life force

That is the life force, that you are not dead and the Conscience is a phenomenon, it is to be aware… but who is aware? Which part of you? Who is you? What is it? It depends: the incarnated you or the disembodied? Because the incarnated you is not monolithic, made up of only one part. You, is also your education, the memory you have of your parents, of your childhood… but when you are not incarnated, you are you as well! But disembodied, you are not this person you believe to be, you have not the memory of your past nor your personality, your ego. You are the soul.

As long as you are alive, you are this you who remembers, who has these hands, this face, this voice, this you that everyone sees and who changes with the passing time. You are this you when you are incarnated. There are no others available you than this one. The one who sees, who hears is the mind. In the brain, there is a flow and this flow, excepted the neuro-transmitters, is the same one whether to make the brain working or to make blood circulatin or the lungs working and the muscles. You are also this force.

The mind can be identified with several things, it can be identified with the body, then you play sport, you spend your existence to think about your food, you make of plastic surgery etc. Even if, in truth, you are also your body and that you have to take care of your body, like a motorist takes care of his car… you are not only this body. If you are identified with your mind, you are a cerebral person and you neglect your body. Is it schematic? Yes, I know, it is on purpose.

Say I by being your soul

If you are identified with the inner-peace, you are somebody of the inside. If there were a goal which you could reasonably plan to reach, from my point of view, it would not be to reach the liberation of the samsâra chains. What does it mean all of that? It is so far away, so theoretical, conceptual, about the belief… not, the most reasonable purpose of the spirituality would be that when you say I it would be really you who say it and not the idea you have about you.

When you say: “my soul”, which person does say it? If you say “my soul” it is not your soul which speaks, if not you would say I. It is well the mind which says that: if he says “my soul”, that means it considers it like a third person. The goal is that one day, when you speak about it, you can say: '' the mind''. If you say '' the mind '' that means that you speak from the point of view of the soul, that you are the soul. But it is not enough to say it to be aware of it, it is not a magic formula!

You are, during this existence, a being made up of several parts, the body, the mind and the soul, which work in synergy and in interdependence but sometimes you are aware to be you, the soul, and other times you believe being your thoughts. It is always you. Sometimes the false-ego expresses itself posing as you… when you are identified to the true you, then you are you and when you believe to be something else, you generate this false-ego which loses you.

The locked up soul

Sometimes the soul is disconnected from the mind, like in this disease, the syndrome of seclusion, where the mind is waked up and completely conscious, it sees and hears everything, but can neither let move the body nor speak. The mind let the soul express itself, it lends it its words, its concepts, its thoughts and its comprehension. Do not forget: we are made up of three parts in synergy.

But do not stay on the surface of the things, obnubilated by the charms of the apparent, by the Màyà, the illusion. If you are thus deceived, if you remain on the surface of the things, this background noise that makes the shade of the ego, the false-ego, you end by hearing only it and believe that these noises are your thoughts. Change the place, go where it is not, in the center, by the Observance of the Agya. Do not identify solely with your thoughts, your memory, your memories, your personality, your photographs of youth… it is you often, but not the deep essential you, the one of the moment out of time.

The false-ego is glad when you search your soul, when you become pure, that you let sing Tibetan bowls, burn incense and sing bhajans! During this time you seek your soul, you are not conscious that it is your true deep identity. The rituals without Knowledge (the shruti) are vain and lose you on a dead end, full with beautiful colors, beautiful songs and good perfumes.

If it must dress as a buddhist monk, to misleading you better, the false-ego does it! and you will learn by heart entire books, and the names of the Gods, deities and under-Gods, mantras, rituals and the words of wisdom. It doesn’t care false-ego: you can crucify yourselves at Easter, whip you with nettles while saying worse than to hang about it; as long as you are occupied with other thing that with the Truth. It doesn’t matter, if God is of your interest it will speak to you about God! and that will make a religion.

If you spend your life to think about God, you are in confusion and the duality, a mystical confusion, a Buddhist confusion, an esoteric confusion but a confusion anyway! Yoga, the union is to be re-identified with yourself, to find yourself, to gather yourself, be one, to return to yourself and to keep the gold wire which is the Conscience of yourself. You must again be able to say: “me the soul, I”. Just practise. To meditate, to be in the Agya is the only means to keep this gold wire and I am here for you to say it and to repeat it to you.
